Despite its importance and rather serious impact on the politics in South Eastern Europe, the Battle of Lašva (1415) was somewhat neglected in historiography prior to the early 21th century. Thorough studies made by Sima Ćirković, Dubravko Lovrenović and Károly Kranzieritz positively confirmed that the battlefield was in fact in the Lašva valley and not in the vicinity of the town of Doboj, and emphasized the immense proportions of Hungarian defeat. However, the new sources which have emerged since (Hungarian charters, Venetian chronicles) offer further evidence, especially about the issue of casualties and noble captives who hailed from various parts of the Hungarian Kingdom, including some regions of present-day Romania. This paper intends to give an overview of the state of research, present the main sequence of events (with an emphasis on the aftermath of the battle) and place the data from hitherto unused sources within the framework of previously known ones. The new data from Hungarian charters suggest that some of the higher nobles who were in Turkish captivity loaned money to their less fortunate comrades. On the other hand, the pieces of information from the Venetian chronicles confirm the names of the most notable casualties of the battle of Lašva (both dead and imprisoned) and bring the data on some previously unknown personalities involved in the battle on the Christian side
